A Game Where You Have to Meditate


Hi there!

Progress for The Eightfold Path is going great! Now, the monk gets scared when they get too close to a spirit. And you can't have a clear mind to complete the eight steps of the path if you're scared.




Meditation

When your heart is beats fast from the fear that overtakes your mind, there's a simple way of letting go of it that's accessible for everyone: Meditation. Meditating is an essential practice in Buddhism and an important feature of the game. Just take a moment to relax, sit down, breath in and out and let your consciousness enter into a trance that will enable you to activate things on the map and in your mind that you weren't able to do before...



Sprint

We also added a button to sprint. Since the game has a lot of walking, we felt that it would be nice to be able to go faster sometimes. But be careful, if you run too much the monk will become exhausted and you will have to rest for a few seconds before being able to walk at normal speed or sprint again. This is perfect for running away from ghosts or enemies that will haunt you but it's also dangerous if you don't use it intelligently.


Buddhism

It has been very fun to learn about Buddhism and turning its practices into a game. We don't see ourselves as Buddhists (I mean, I'm just a llama) but there's a lot that we can learn from it. Some people say that Buddhism can even make you a better Catholic, a better Muslim or a better whatever you see yourself as. At the end is just about that, about being a better human being with everyone else (animals and humans).
